Didn't he ever have to learn how best to clean the sheets?
We're understanding. Here is a rundown of the four ways it is possible to clean
Curtains. Tip: Be sure to inquire about what cleaning system they are using
when having an estimate and ask if they can have a no-shrinkage guarantee.
- Steam Cleaning: Sometimes, when they are already hanging, carpet cleaning firms can use their handheld attachment to clean Curtains. The issue with this approach is that it only offers surface cleaning-the dirt on your Curtains accumulates in the ploughs and in-behind where it is difficult to achieve steam cleaning. In addition, steam injection further embeds accumulated dirt and soil and leaves a wrinkled & limp look on the Curtains. Save yourself some money, it will yield similar results by vacuuming your Curtains with your own vacuum. It will not extract embedded dust by vacuuming Curtains, but is a good intermediate phase between deep cleaning.
- Dry
Cleaning: At high temperatures, conventional dry cleaners immerse
curtains in harsh dry-cleaning fluids that cause shrinkage and distortion
of the fabric. In addition, curtains are also stretched and pressed to try
to preserve the original shape and form to compensate for the shrinkage
caused by liquid immersion. Unfortunately, fire, pressing and harsh
chemicals do not stand up well with delicate drapery fabric. A
deteriorated fabric that will never recover its original shape and look is
the result. With only one cleaning, they can be destroyed if the curtains
have tassels, trim, silk, wool or have a blackout lining.
- Washing: Drapery
textiles are not similar to other textiles. While some curtains can be
washed, such as polyester sheers, most curtains will not respond well to
washing, particularly those with a label that indicates washable. Any
fabric immersed in water can shrink, and, even after only one wash, the
washing process results in fabric distortion and damage. Washing causes
permanent damage to fabrics, however, washed curtains will need pressing,
causing further damage, shortening their lifetime significantly.

ReplyDeleteOne first factor to consider is whether you want a green cleaner or conventional cleaner. Conventional cleaners are by far the most common and may be cheaper, but what might you be compromising to do so? Know the answer - How to Get Rid of Fleas in a Carpet?
