When should your carpet be replaced?

Although you cannot foresee when it is appropriate to replace a carpet, there are indications that it is time to replace it. A modern carpet can last for between five and fifteen years, but depending on the nature of its construction and the amount of foot traffic, how long a carpet actually lasts.

If thin areas or immovable stains are present, then it is time to replace your carpet. Powerful odors that linger after deep cleaning may also be an indicator that a new one is time for it.

This means that the carpet is worn out if the carpet pile stood up when fresh and is now flat. In some places, a carpet can look a lighter shade than in others. A fading carpet does not actually need to be replaced, but it is a good idea to change it if aesthetics are important.
